Hosted at Stroma Studio and Gallery in Benicia and led by artist on display, Wesley Haack, this workshop will include all supplies and in-person instruction to carve and print your very own woodblock! Appropriate for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels, participants will be instructed on how to carve scales and feathers. These basic shapes will allow artists at any level to learn how to make the carving tools work for them!

Haack’s experience as a professional printmaker alongside his scientific knowledge gathered from his B.S. in biology and years of teaching makes him the perfect instructor to share this art form. After this workshop, you will be able to apply these new skills again and again. You will get to take home your very own print, woodblock and tools to carve future blocks.
